Welcome to Dublin

The best explanation I could come up with for my family was to say that I’ve been selected for a reality show-like project, sponsored by IBM. The assignment would take me to Dublin with a group of people from around the world (none of which I had met before) all with varied backgrounds. We’d been selected to solve a problem in the city– and would have three weeks to interview as many experts as possible and deliver a proposal that will make a difference.
Here’s what I can tell you after day 1:
1) This is a super talented volunteer group from IBM and HSBC. We have traveled from all over the world –Mumbai, Bangalore, London, Mexico City and Austin. Here’s a pic of us at the gates to Trinity College.gates of the trinity

2) Local author Lorcan Collins gives an amazing tour & history lesson. He loves this place and it shows.

3) Guinness and live music at a local bar were a great way to break the ice.

Tomorrow starts the real work to evaluate options for Dublin to use solar energy through the use of municipal/publicly owned space. Wish us luck over the next three weeks!
