Launching Ceremony of Smarter City Challenge

Today we attended the launching ceremony , speeches were delivered by Song De Ping, Vice Mayor of Foshan, who spoke about the vision for Foshan and Patricia Yim, VP, Coverage and GEO Expansion for IBM.

IBM also donated 50 KidSmart sets for Early learning. This is a great program that helps early development of young children, encouraging them to learn math and science becoming more creative. IBM has provided  KidSmart sets in 60 countries helping 10 million kids and assisting 100,000 teachers. Education is critical for long term development and donating these kidSmart sets help fuel Foshan for smarter education.

After the ceremony we then had the honour of having lunch at the guest house with Liu Yue Lun, the Mayor of Foshan. It was an incredible buffet lunch, where we all sat around a huge round table.
